Signature Work

Günter Schmidt-Klör differs from all artists who have dedicated themselves to a form, a technique or a color in one respect essential point: he tells stories and opens up new perspectives on the past and the present. He doesn't see himself as an illustrator, but as a thoughtful interpreter of the events of the present days.

It finds its expression in oil paintings, lithographs, collages, drawings or sculptures from Simplicissimus to the Thirty Years' War, from the Flying Dutchman to the powerful poems of German classics, especially Bertold Brecht.

Günter Schmidt-Klör opposes the dark visions of the powerful and strives for a purpose in life full of art, friendship and humor.
